The Dove® Self-Esteem Fund
The Dove® Self-Esteem Fund was developed to help free the next generation from self-limiting beauty stereotypes.
Committed to reaching 5 million young women by the end of 2010, we invite you to play a role in supporting and promoting a wider definition of beauty.
We developed the Dove® Self-Esteem Fund to make a real change in the way women and young girls perceive and embrace beauty. We want to help free ourselves and the next generation from beauty sterotypes.
Self-Esteem has an effect on every aspect of a person's life. Too many girls develop low self-esteem from hang-ups about looks. When girls and women feel positive about themselves and the way they look. they are more likely to engage in life, enjoy social interactions and live up to their full potential.
To make change possible, the Dove® Self-Esteem Fund focuses its efforts to foster positive image-related self-esteem in two areas of activity:
The Fund develops and distributes free resources that enable and empower women and girls to embrace a broad definition of beauty. Resources include the Real Beauty School Program, online activities and resources for girls and mentors such as True You! and mother/daughter booklet, games and activities for girls only, expert advice and articles, quizzes and more.
The Fund provides needed resources to organizations that foster a broader definition of beauty such as the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC) and L'association d'aide aux personnes souffrant d'anorexie nerveuse et de boulimie (ANEB) in Canada.
It is our mission to continue to provide the tools and support to individuals, groups and organizations.
