Unilever Canada is a proud supporter of Food Banks Canada’s innovative Kitchen Creations program. Kitchen Creations supports local food banks’ delivery of educational programs that are designed to increase their client’s confidence and knowledge in the preparation of balanced, nutritious meals. Programs that are supported through Kitchen Creations grants include everything from workshops to improved knowledge of nutrition, meal planning on a budget, food literacy, food preparation for youth in crisis, kitchen skills for children aged 7-12, lessons in soup making, canning and preserving and even programs that prepare youth for employment in the food services industry.
In 2017, Unilever Canada provided $110,000 to 18 food banks across Canada to support these types of programs. Click here for one story of how these funds were deployed by The Salvation Army Penticton’s Fresh from the Farm youth program.
