Dove Partners to Improve Self-Esteem
At Dove, we believe no girl should be held back from reaching her full potential. The Dove Self-Esteem Project was founded in Canada in 2004 with the vision of a world where beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety. Our mission is to ensure the next generation grow up enjoying a positive relationship with the way they look – helping girls to raise their self-esteem and realize their full potential.
The Dove Self Esteem Project delivers self-esteem education to young people aged 8-17 years through online resources designed for parents, teachers, mentors and youth workers. So far Dove has reached over 20 million young people globally with these resources and over 2 million in Canada alone since 2005. All of Dove self-esteem resources are developed in consultation with experts: global authorities on the issue of girls’ body confidence as well as those with a very real, practical understanding of girls.
Since we know we can’t change the world alone, we have partnered with inspirational partner organizations to help us achieve our goals. In Canada, Dove works with the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC) and Plan Canada and Anorexia and bulimia (ANEB) in Quebec to help reach even more girls.
